Are They Really Organic Ear Plugs?
Everybody is into organic these days; we have even organic ear plugs now. But what do we mean when we say organic. A lot of people are confused about the term. Is it applicable to plants only? We always hear or read about them associated with vegetables and foods.
Organic is more than that. Organic means natural, pure, unpolluted by any that’s synthetic. Chemicals are inorganic, honey is organic. Most drugs are inorganic, green tea is organic. Wood is organic and so are horns and bones. When they are manufactured as body jewelries, they become organic jewelries and some of them are organic ear plugs.
Why are people today so interested about organics? What’s in them that makes them a hit among health buffs. In fact, it’s not what is found in them but what is not. They don’t have the toxins and poisonous materials that inorganic materials have. What are some of these inorganic materials? They are the paints, glues, sodium, medicines, metals, asbestos, plastics and more.
Why are organic ear plugs different?
They are safe to use. Plastic and metal jewelries are alright as body adornments. They look real nice and shiny. They sparkle and attract attention when the lights hit them. Gold, silver and diamonds among others are the most in demand pieces of jewelries.
But there is something in metals. They should not be worn for a long time especially when they are embedded in the skin. They react to acid. Our sweats are acidic and when they mix there’s a chemical reaction happening. The sweat will act as catalyst to the metal and the resulting metallic by product is deposited in the skin. Organic ear plugs however don’t react to sweat. They are as natural as our perspiration.
Long term exposure to metallic by products will allegedly cause cancer. That’s why it’s important to remove the inorganic body jewelries regularly and they should be cleaned. The surrounding skin that comes in contact with the jewelries should be applied with disinfectants also. Once a week will be good but if you want a more professional advice ask your doctors about this.
Indeed, even when you’re wearing organic jewelries such as organic ear plugs, you should also have a regular cleaning just the same. Regular and proper hygiene are a must if you have body piercing. Dirt will always congregate in holes. They will leave some solutes in the holes which may cause some infection alter.
Now, don’t be complacent when somebody sells you an organic ear plugs. Just because they are made of wood you’re safe with them. Not really. You have to make sure that they are also using organic paints and organic glues. Yes, there are such things. There are even organic drugs and fertilizers. So it would be to your great interest to know these things if you’re really an avid organic aficionado.
There are organic shampoos, soaps, and conditioner as well. Be careful when buying your organic ear plugs. They may not be what they are purported to be. It’s not bad manners to ask nicely. It’s your health which is at stake here.
